Life on the moon. Tardigrades, sometimes called water bears, are tiny eight-legged creatures. Thousands were sent up to the moon on an Israeli probe that crashed onto its surface. Tardigrades are almost indestructible. They can cope with high levels of radiation, temperatures as cold as -300 degrees and as hot as +300 degrees. And they can live without water or air. So they may still be living there.

Frivolous, ya think? In 2005, a judge in Washington D.C. sued a dry cleaner for $67 million for losing his pants.
